Facebook, the world’s most popular social media network, released a statement saying that cryptocurrency advertising would restart on the network.
The news was announced in a statement titled ‘Expanding Eligibility to Run Cryptocurrency Ads.’
Facebook suspended cryptocurrency advertising ads in January 2018, claiming that it was vital to safeguard parent investors, the kinds of ordinary people who depend on the social network for everything from hometown chat to world news, from deception.
Facebook stated at the time that it wanted users to keep learning about new products and services through Facebook ads without worrying about being deceived or scammed.
Numerous organizations that advertise binary options, initial coin offerings, and cryptocurrencies are not currently functioning in good faith.
The policy was “deliberately wide,” according to the company, as it enhanced its technologies for recognizing fraudulent adverts.
Despite loosening the criterion for permitting crypto adverts, it stressed that it will continue to enforce standards and delete ads that were deceptive or damaging.
The decision to resume crypto advertising comes just weeks after Mark Zuckerberg, the company’s CEO, revealed that the social media platform would be renamed Metaverse.
Facebook cited two primary causes for making it effortless to run crypto advertisements on its platforms: development in the crypto market and helping small companies and social media flourish.
Facebook announced that it is increasing the number of regulatory licenses it accepts, making it easier to promote cryptocurrency adverts on the network.
The company is doing so because the cryptocurrency landscape has matured and stabilized in past years, with more government legislation establishing clearer guidelines for the business.
These modifications will assist the company’s policies in this area to become more egalitarian and transparent, allowing more marketers, especially small businesses, to expand their audiences and reach more prospective customers.
