A call for applications for the third iteration of the decentralized Umoja Algorand Bounty Hack has been released by the Algorand Foundation, Reach, and Africa Blockchain Alliance.
This comes after the first and second Decentralized Umoja Algorand Bounty Hacks were successful.
In keeping with its commitment to promoting blockchain education on the African continent, the Africa Blockchain Alliance collaborated with the Algorand Foundation and Reach to put together this quick-paced and agile training course for African web developers interested in entering the blockchain development field.
The course will take the shape of an online Bounty Hack Series, a guided hackathon in which participants (teams and individuals) learn to create blockchain applications (DApps) and then finish tasks from a list of pre-approved projects over the course of six weeks.
Each team will have a mentor allocated to them who will collaborate closely with them to ensure their success. At the conclusion of the hack, participants will vote on the produced dapps.
Three winning teams will get prizes. But the hack continues after that. Every team that takes part and completes their project is given a prize worth $1,000 or more just for showing up.
Benefits of participation
- The top three prizes are $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000, respectively.
- All other participating teams will each get $1,000 upon project completion.
- Community Choice Award of $1,000
- $250 for the creation of a piece outlining your proposal.
- $300 for participating on a call following the hack where the project team is briefed on your project.
- You may convert your project into a Reach workshop for $500 (with a pull request) or a Reach tutorial for $750. (with a pull request)
In addition to the awards, competitors will continue to get assistance from the organizers after the hackathon to further their projects or build a blockchain-related profession.
Who is eligible?
All software developers with any level of experience are welcome to participate in the hackathon. The most important thing is a dedication to finishing the tutorial and a project. This is how the tutorial appears.
